Current Fighter Verse:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith." Romans 3:23-25a (ESV)

Uganda Mission Trip Expectations

Hey guys,

I decided to post the Uganda Mission trip info here for anyone who might have missed the mission trip meeting this afternoon at OMV. Listed below are all of the requirements and expectations of any youth wishing to go on the Uganda mission trip next summer. It is going to be an awesome time, so if you are wanting to go, please pray through each of the requirements listed below and examine yourself in light of them.

Oh, I forgot to mention this at the meeting. The plane tickets will cost 1,850 each. OMV will be offering a few fund-raising opportunities, but be aware that ultimately the each student is responsible for his or her own plane ticket.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All youth going on the Uganda mission trip must demonstrate maturity and the ability to conduct themselves like adults in a cross-cultural setting.

All youth desiring to go on the Uganda mission trip must go through an interview process with Aaron Swain, Gary Shugart, or Kyle Smith.

The parent(s) of any youth desiring to go on the Uganda mission trip must briefly meet with Aaron Swain also.

It is the responsibility of all who go on the trip to . . .

1. Be able to explain the gospel clearly and competently.
2. Be able and willing to share their testimony in about 3 minutes.
3. Be responsible for all documents, including plane tickets, boarding passes, ID’s, passports, money (i.e. spending wisely, not losing), valuables, etc. for the entirety of the trip.
4. Be able to pack their own suitcase.
5. Be able to wake up, get ready, and be prepared to go on time and in a timely fashion.
6. Be able to listen to and follow instructions the first time given.
7. Be willing to do anything that is asked without arguing, grumbling or complaining. Youth should demonstrate a servant spirit in all things asked of them.
8. Be able to think quickly and clearly and act calmly and rationally in emergency situations.
9. Be physically able to walk distances up to one mile in the heat without problem.
10. Be able to conduct oneself appropriately and sensitively in a different cultural context.
