I don't know about you guys, but for me it has definitely been a very busy summer. Sometimes I find myself going so fast and being so busy that I forgot to stop and think about all of the great things God has done for me. So I thought it would be good, before the new school year begins, if I would just share a few examples of God's faithfulness to me over the past year. Feel free to share with me in a comment some of the ways God has blessed you or has been faithful.
1. This time last summer: God provided for me a brand new laptop computer that I did not have to pay a dime for. My old computer had died, and I didn't have an extra 1,000 dollars lying around.
2. This time last summer: God provided for me a job at the best church that I have ever been a part of. I started my job at OMV almost 1 year ago. It's hard to believe it's already been that long. I love my job and I love you guys. Since the time that I joined OMV, I have really found a home and a family in OMV and the people. There is nowhere I'd rather be than whereever OMV is. I have learned so much about what it really means to be part of the Church. It is definitely an honor to be able to serve on staff and serve as a member at such a place as this.
3. Fall 2006 - January 2007: God provided for me the ability and funds that I needed to go on the mission trip to Nigeria, Africa. The folks at my home church pitched in and blessed me with all the money I needed for that trip. I was able to preach the gospel in the bush villages. It was great to see the Great Commission becoming a reality to me because of the sacrifice of my home church.
4. Spring 2007: God provided for me the promise my best friends hand in marriage. Me and Sarah are less than 5 month away from marriage, now, and I can't wait to begin the rest of our lives together. That is by far the best gift that I have received besides my salvation. Not only is she godly but she is beautiful, too.
5. Spring 2007: God provided for me the ability to persevere through college and receive my diploma. There is no degree in the world that I would rather have than one in Biblical Studies. He has blessed me so much to allow me to do what I love - study the Bible and minister to others.
6. This summer: God provided for me a second job where I can use my knowledge of the Bible and Christian books to lead others to the best Christian resources for the sake of the gospel.
7. In a few weeks: God provided for me the money that I need to proceed with the first round of oral surgery that I need so that I can get these wisdom teeth yanked out. 1,000$ is not easy to come by, but He has provided.
8. Everyday: God is continually gracious and patient with me. As hard headed as I am, He still is such a kind and loving Father. Even in my unfaithfulness He is always faithful. He has reminded me that He is not done with me yet - that I have a long way to go. But I look forward to what God will do in and through me in the next year. He is such a good God.
. . . in what ways has God been faithful to you this year?
Current Fighter Verse:
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith." Romans 3:23-25a (ESV)
